Queens Public Library

In November 2024, we worked with children and families at the Corona Public Library in Queens, to produce What Kids Want for Homework. This collaborative publication features drawings, typings, and transcribed thoughts from 4-14-year-olds about what homework would be if they were in charge.

14th Street Y

Citation Needed began as an after-school program hosted by the 14th Street Y. The class series ran from Fall 2023- Spring 2025 as a set of experimental publishing workshops for 3rd-5th graders. Each year, we published an edition of 10-15 individual children’s books.

Printed Matter / St. Marks

In May 2023 and 2024, we collaborated with Printed Matter / St. Marks and the 14th Street Y to produce children’s individual publications. In 2024, Printed Matter / St. Marks hosted our book launch on their rooftop including a life advice booth operated by 4th graders.

Social Practice CUNY

From Fall 2023-Spring 2024, this project was supported through a fellowship with Social Practice CUNY. Through the fellowship, we received support in considering our ethical, pedagogical, and archival practices through a community of artists, graduate students, and professors.

We presented on Citation Needed pedagogy for the Center for Book Arts Conference in 2024. You can watch the talk here:
